On October 1, 2018, the law regarding divorce in Maryland changed.  Now Maryland couples can obtain an uncontested divorce on the ground of “mutual consent”, even if they have minor children.

As a result of this recent change, parents with minor children (and parties without minor children) can now get a divorce on an uncontested basis in approximately 30 days.  If you and your spouse enter into a marital settlement agreement that resolves all the issues pertaining to the dissolution of your marriage – including custody, child support, alimony and property distribution – you do not have to be separated for 12 months before you can obtain a divorce in Maryland.

If you are interested in getting a divorce on the basis of mutual consent, call our office today at (301) 444-4660 to schedule your  free, initial phone consultation.  We can represent you in an uncontested mutual consent divorce for a low flat fee and you can be divorced 30 days from the date you file for divorce.
